Vine Embroidery offers a number of classes to suit you :-

Saturday Classes

All classes run from 10am to 4pm and are run on a relaxed and informal basis. The cost of the class is £42.50 and includes a light lunch, tea and coffee. A £20 deposit is needed to guarantee a place, of which £10 is non refundable. There is an additional charge for materials.

Classes are held in the spacious Vine Embroidery studio at Marsh Farm, Hilperton just a few miles from Bradford-on-Avon and Trowbridge.

Tuition is tailored to the needs of each individual so everyone gets the most from the class, begineers needn't be scared.

It would be useful if you could bring along any sewing equipment you might have, particularly scissors, however do not worry too much about this if you don't have any.

Saturday Classes
	October 31	Silk Shaded Gloriosa	This vibrant red and yellow shaded Gloriosa Lily flower is worked in long and short stitch on a silk background. It is a project for those who have done some silk shading before and are happy to go home with a bit of home work!
	November 14	A Partridge in a Pear Tree	This is a new design this year, so look out for an image on my website over the coming months. You will work a small section of the Pear Tree, with gold edged branches and leaves in silk shading with gold veins. Pad with felt and then appliqué with gold kid for the sumptuous padded pears. The partridge is stitched in a mixture of silk shading and free hand embroidery stitches. Please note: this class is now full.
	December 12	Embroidered Christmas King	Back by popular demand for those of you who couldn't get on the class last year. For those who did do the class and enjoyed it, why not come again and work a second king in a slightly different design and colours? The king is stitched using regal colours, silk shading, chain stitch, appliquéd silk, and goldwork. Stitch on a dramatic dark silk background embellished with small stars. This piece won’t be finished on the day …but hopefully in time for Christmas!

Goldwork

Embroidery

Goldwork is a stunning embroidery technique. It uses a variety of different metal threads which are normally worked over padding.

On this course you will learn about the different types of padding and how and when they are used.

The techniques covered will include 'cut gold', couching, chipwork, and applique of gold kid. There will be a variety of designs from which to choose.

You can either work the teacher's design or bring your own.

Fine Whitework

Whitework embroidery covers a whole variety of techniques including broderie-Anglaise, pulled work, drawn thread work and cut work.

The course will be covering and mixing a range of these methods.

Along with traditional whitework eyelets, stitches covered on the course include brailing, buttonhole stitch, back stitch, satin stitch and chain stitch.

The embroidery is worked on fine white cotton with different types of white threads to create texture in place of colour.

Please note materials can be purchased from the tutor at an approximate cost of £14. All-comers welcome.

Weekly Embroidery Classes

These are held in my workshop on Wednesdays from 10am to 12noon. Unfortunately the class is currently full.

Techniques including Gold work, Silk shading, Stumpwork, Crewelwork, Whitework and Blackwork can be covered. Students can work on projects that they have already begun or try something completely new.
